This week has been pretty decent. It was a little cold off and all week but it only put us in for one - 40 day so I'd say that was good.
Monday, we did the usual stuff, shopping, emailing, being bored. The weather on Monday was pretty bad with the wind, gave us some ugly drifts as you might have seen from the pictures I sent out.
Tuesday was district council in the morning, the zls came and sat in on it and that went alright. Was kinda a gong show with Winkler and their internet connection. They don't have a church building so they have to go and fish off of Walmart or some other place, and they had a semi that kept pulling back and forth in front of them and it would cut off their connection to the internet at the place they were snagging it from, so we'd all be talking and then they'd just freeze n disappear so that made it kinda frustrating as we tried to keep having a good conversation going during the meeting. In the end though it turned out okay and everything that was needing to be say was said.
After DC we did lunch, then comp study. A little later we went over to Eric’s for dinner and to help him with a few things. For dinner we made pizza from scratch and it turned out pretty good. Ended up doing a little jam session with him on the guitar, and during this I started messing around and played a decent sounding tune to which Eric got all excited cause he figured we could write a song with it. So, we ended up there for a good while trying to think up some stuff to go with it. Finally, we just told him alright we gotta go but we can come back later in the week and see what we can do.
Wednesday, we had the soup kitchen. It was a lot better this week then last week, had a few more people show. We were running a little to try and keep up with everyone that was coming in, whereas last week it was so slow and we had hardly no one coming in.
Once we got out of the soup kitchen we realized that it was - 41 out so... The was the day for us we figured. We did comp study and did what we could to do something effective, did have some time to work on that song though!
Thursday, we went over to the prior center to do some work there in the morning but about a hr or so after being there the power started to fail. They ended up having us sit around for a bit while they tried to see if they could fix it, but that didn't happen so they said we could head home.
We did however while waiting get to play a couple games of pool. Was kinda rough since we haven't played in so long but by the end I think we were starting to pick it up again.
Did some stop bys later on in the day and our usual studies, but as for Thursday that was the day pretty well.
Friday, we got a text from Louis in the morning sayin he wants us over at the prior center if we could make it and see if we could finish up the jobs we had going yesterday. Had a little fun this time as we hauled some 80-100 lb bags of old paper from upstairs in that place down to the recycling area. We took a big piece of cardboard and laid it on the steps to make a sort of slide and then we let the bags go down it. K Nelson he decided that it would be fun to slide down the slide, but he's a bit heavier and not as spread out as a big bag of paper so he hit every step as he went down! It was pretty good!
Did a few other odds and ends for jobs and then that was our day there.
Finally got around to our weekly planning.
Got dinner dropped off to us tonight from bro Borczuch so that was a nice surprise. Said sis Borczuch want doing too well and could cook today for us so they did the next best thing and got us a pizza!
Finished off the night with shoveling out our old people in the branch and around town. All in all, it was pretty good day I'd say.
Saturday well we started off the day with some frozen tracting. Said it was only
- 29 out but we think it was more like - 39, it was pretty cold. We did however find a couple people that said to come back!
K. Nelson he got a little excited when we got back from tracting and started making lunch at 11.30, by the time he realized what time it was he was too far gone so we did an early lunch which wasn’t all that bad.
Had a decent companion study up until the last 10 min where we both feel asleep while listening to a talk.
Went out to long plain rez for the night and did some stuff it there. That was exciting just for a change of scenery.
Sunday, we had a decently full building so that was a plus! Everyone thought that I shoulda been gone by now. They kept sayin "oh your still here! When do you leave?!" guess they can't wait to get rid of the Nelson boys lol
After church at had the usual lunch with the judges and Jensen's.
Did our companion study and then finished off the night at Eric’s for dinner and working on the song we are attempting to write. Didn't get too far with the song since our lyric boy (k Nelson) was being a pain and not giving us a hand with thinking of lyrics. That and it took forever to get the recording stuff set up on the tv so we could record stuff. But oh well, it was still fun.
Well that was it for our crazy exciting week!
